Remote control errors
When i start to play EA Sports active and get to the main screen, the controls become reverse. So when you point the remote up the pointer on screen goes down. when you point the remote left the pointer on screen goes right... any ideas?
The wii is up to date.
This error only happened on the second day of gameplay. first day was fine.
This only occurs when playing EA Sports active. any other game is fine.|||I have the exact same error. It only happens with one of my remotes, the other works fine. And it only happens in EA Sports Active. Any suggestions would be helpful. I've tried new batteries, resetting the remote. I could hold the remote upside down but I'm not sure if there is an impact on the nunchuck then.|||I have had exactly the same problem and its really frustrating, it happened on my third day when I was half way through doing my work out, I've tried everything and nothing has worked to correct it, I've tried it on another game and the remote is fine, so it is definatly this game.

Create workouts from web
We should be able to create workout programs on this site, some tool which we could add/edit custom workouts, then the game could sync when it logs in to the EA servers. Anyone else think this is a good idea? I don't know how responsive or supportive EA is in regards to listening to user feedback for things like this and I know it would be a big job but that would separate them from the rest of the fitness games, none of the others I've ever tried let you do this like Wii Fit, EA active 1 or UBI softs fitness evolved.
Along the same lines it would be great to be able to do the Other Activity and Nutrition surveys from this site.
These fitness games linking their data to a web site is great, just would be awesome if it was more than just an online display for what I just did. Kind of like these web portals are becoming obligatory for this genre and not a focused and useful tool like it could be.
Anyway if you agree please keep this post bumped and maybe EA will agree its worth building! Tx and good luck to all!

How to add a second profile to EA Sports Active 2.0
Hi, I just bought EASA2 today, and so far I'm very pleased with the product.
My only problem is that my girlfriend would like to setup her own profile, so she would be able to excercise and track her own stats without having to use my profile.
So far I browsed the different menus, but wasnt able to find anything close as to add a second unique profile to the game. I did found a way to delete my profile (which is listed as LEAD right now) but not creating one... Id like to add that as soon as I load the game and press start on the welcome screen, I'm sent directly to my profile without being asked anything else.
Please help on this matter.
Thanks! :)|||Sorry for double post, server stopped to respond the first time I tried to post this topic|||My wife and I also bought this product with the same expectations as we had that capability with the previous versions of this game. Please provide some support.|||StrifeK, if you have a PS3, you'll need to go out of the game by pressing the PS3 Home button, and enter the Sony dashboard. From here, scroll to the far left and enter the Users option. Select "Create a new profile", and then select the profile and select "log in". If you now enter EA SPORTS Active 2, you will be using this new profile.|||Thank you for the quick replies, the help is really appreciated!|||

NFL issue with DB Challenge
I have been using Active Personal Trainer, More Workouts, and since New Year's I've been working with NFL training camp. Aside from the network issues recording my workouts to the website which began 30 days in to my 60 day Challenge, the only other issue I have has been when the DB Challenge comes up. The video shows how to hold the Wii remote when you go to the right forward and back, which is not a problem. However, I struggle with how/where to point the controllers when going left forward and back. Does anyone have success with this challenge?|||Here is what has worked for me:
Think of them as slight modifications of the split lunges that we do in other parts of the workout, the only difference being that you are adding left, right and backward shifts to the movement.
If you are lunging to the left side lead with your left leg, to the right side lead with your right leg.
The lead/front leg should be bent at the knee at a 90 degree angle, and the trailing leg should be straight with your heel off the floor (just like with the straight on split lunge).
The Wii remote should be pointing straight down at the floor, hanging straight down from your shoulder and parallel with the lead leg (which again should have a 90 degree bend at the knee).
Hope this helps. It has been working pretty consistently for me. And remember that the lunges in this challenge should not look much different from the split lunges you are already doing, except for the direction you are doing them in.|||Im on day 2 of TRYING to use my game! I have to say I am livid !!
I was doing split lunges and it refused to see me! Kept saying " get moving " "Hold still" I was ready to throw my damn WII out the window!
I was doing it properly, no shaking etc... it saw 2 of my lunges then gave up... I had to turn off the game and put my Zumba in instead...
I tried moving my sensor yesterday cause it refuses to see me doing side ups .. so far I will have to give this game a F

Workout 1 min from complete and disc crashes
I just did 2 workouts in a row and the disc gave me an error right at the last cool down exercise that "disc cannot be read" out of nowhere.
My wii has never said that before on any game or this one before.
I'm really annoyed! I just did 2 30 min workouts and now it only counts one of them, and I have to redo the program workout.
Why can't I just finish the part I missed? Wasn't it updating the progress to the server?

Ps3 Usb receiver not connecting
My usb receiver cannot be detected by my ps3. I unplugged it and tried other devices in the same usb port and they work so I know it's not the usb port. I tried rebinding the total body tracking system and the usb receiver will not connect. Is anyone else having the same problem?|||I'm having this problem as well but with the Wii console. I've tried turning the console off and re-inserting the USB several times with no success. I'm in the queue with tech support now but seems to be a long wait. Also tried emailing but the screen never fully loads to allow you to type the email. Last, there's supposed to be tech support on line chat available...can't seem to find that either!!!! Very frustrating!!!!!|||RE: jonesy65
Make sure that when you try to sync your peripherals, it is when the game is running.
In any case, if the game simply isn't detecting the USB adapter, it may be damaged and need to be replaced, unfortunately.|||We have exactly the same problem, and I received the following fairly unhelpful response from the EA helpdesk:
"As per your concern, the question you submitted seems to be related to the mechanics of playing the game. Due to the high volume of contacts we receive, Customer Support is only able to assist with issues of a technical nature, such as error messages, game lock-ups, or game crashes. For suggestions on how to play or utilize features of our games, we recommend visiting the games message board forum"
Has anyone else experienced this and found a resolution? I don't want to have to send it back, especially if the replacement has the same problem....|||Fortunately, I was able to resolve my issue. Tech Support wasn't helpful for me either. However, the tech I spoke with was going to escalate my issue. I understand that's it's a new game and they hadn't received too many calls in order to have a ready solution. I chose to take the game back to the store for an exchange. If the replacement didn't work I would know there was a larger issue...it did work, seems to just have been a damaged USB receiver.|||Having this problem as well. I guess the USB Receiver is a piece of crap. I used mine the first day, left it plugged in and came back the next day and it was broken.|||I am also having problems with my USB - looks like a lot of people have defective USB.
EA Sports should definitely upgrade this problem!|||Make sure to plug in your USB receiver directly into your console, and not via a USB hub for best results.
For those who the USB worked for one day, but not the other please try these steps:
1) Try unplugging the USB receiver and re-inserting it again. Does the game recognise the USB receiver?
2) If this still doesn't work, please send me a private message and I'd like arrange a way to get our team to look at your USB receiver.
Thanks,

I've even got the latest Wii system update and still nothing! Now I find out it may be a bad USB and will need to return to store?!?!?! How many trips am I going to have to make in order to get this game to work??? I'm totally frustrated!! So much for new technology! Can't EA sports do a recall on all the USBs?? Car makers do it all the time!!!|||
It took four attempts to recognise the USB yesterday so rearranged my gear
Moved the Wii away from my satellite box, hi fi etc and it actually worked first time this morning.
I was wondering whether you are supposed to leave the USB receiver in all the time or not? Now it seems to be working I will leave well alone.
Have EA recognised any product problems with this - I am worried I may have a faulty receiver? I would rather get an exchange now than in a few months down the line.

wrist and leg band problems on Wii
I kmow many people had problems with the leg stap on the older programs i never did. but these straps are very frustrating. No matter how tight they start out after 2 or 3 running type exer ises the leg band is falling off. the arm band slips at least once or twice per workout. Anybody else have these problems?
Using EA Sports Active 2 without having to use internet?

Mii
Does the Active allow importing of Mii's?|||Would like to know if I take the Active and my controls to my son's, do I loose my Mii? I will be out of town for one week. Please help I don't want to miss tracking my workouts!!|||Active doesn't support Mii's. I think Nintendo is selective on what games are allowed to use Miis.
The only way you would lose your workout history is if you delete the profile. So as long as no one deletes your Active character profile, you should be fine.

Wii Balance Board
I have checked "yes" on settings but the preset workouts never use it. Do I have to create a custom workout to use the balance board?|||No if it read it that's fine. It does not use the Balance board all the time. It will pop up when it wants you to use it.
Always telling me "Too Slow" on the track
Hi, I am one of those users that is a little frustrated with this game but I really want it to work for me so I am sticking to it. One of my frustrations is on the track and here are those times:
1) Basic running - the only time it senses me as not being too slow is if I really pound the floor with my feet and run more with my feet behind me. That's tough to do when you're trying to stay in place but I make it work. Sometimes though I would like to take it easy on my knees and do more of a quick up/down with my feet directly under me. I end up treading more lightly on the floor and, even though my thigh (nunchuk) and controller are moving quickly, it tells me I am "Too Slow".
2) Kicking behind me exercise - Sorry I can't remember the proper name for this exercise but it's when you are supposed to walk (sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly) and kick your foot behind you towards your glutes. Once again today on the fast mode of this exercise it told me I was Too Slow. I was on perfect timing with my avatar and it gave me the Too Slow message the entire time on the track; I even tried to go faster than my avatar but it didn't change things.
I have read a couple of replies (that are in response to messages from other frustrated users) about thigh-band placement and nunchuk tweaks in that band and I will try that to see if it helps. If you think that's my issue, please advise.
If you think I am doing something else wrong, please advise.
I really am wanting this game to work for me - but I don't like it being a battle every time I play it.
Thanks!!|||Most of the running issues are with the nunchuk and it's placement. You have to move enough for the nunchuk to detect it too. The wireless nunchuk's are terribly finicky to get to work for a lot of the exercises.|||Here is an easy test: Make a custom workout with only one workout : squats, doesn't matter what intensity.
put the leg-strap on, put in the nunchuk and do a squat, if your legs are almost parallel to the floor and the bar on the left side isn't registering at the bottom of the squat bar, rotate your leg strap so the nunchuk moves more towards the outside of your thigh, JUST A LITTLE BIT. If you squat half-way and it shows your squat on the bar as all the way down, shimmy that leg strap so the nunchuk is moving more to the front of your leg. You will find the sweet spot where it should be registering. The nunchuk has the least sensitive motion sensors in it, so adjustment is key. If you look at a cross section of your leg as a clock and the top of your knee is 12, and the back of your knee as 6, I usually have the nunchuck somewhere between 1 and 2, closer to 1 though, and as high as it can go on my thigh. Of course, my thigh might be shaped differently than yours, you may have to put it at 11 o'clock or 2 o'clock to get it to register properly. You will see a difference when you do the rollerblading also
From what I've read on these forums, do NOT use a wireless nunchuk
1. The running exercises seem to rely only on the nunchuk for speed and not so much whether you are swinging the remote while you run (it may have a bearing on how many calories burned though), also, I tend to do a high-stepping run to get more out of the workout, your knees may not like that though.
2. Kick-ups are what you are referring to, your avatar isn't setting the pace, it is showing you your pace, FAST kick-ups should be done at a run, not a fast walk, and yes, that is very hard to do for 2 laps (or even 1) when you first start out, but they only get easier, and I find that to be a good cardio workout.
Good luck

Which system is the game better on?????????
I want to purchase this game but not sure what system to purchase it on wii or ps3
My question Is there free range of motion on both systems so I can use weights, jump ropes etc. or is that only on kinect?????????|||I'm using the Wii and that is the only game console available to me...and it is truly GREAT. But given your situation I would go with PS3. Both systems are hands free so you can use weights or watever you want, the Wii requires holding the remote during a few sports activities like catching or throwing where you wouldn't be using weights anyways.
The PS3 can handle Downloadable content and patchs to fix problems...the Wii can't.
The Kinect seems to have a lot of problems from what I read on here!|||Well, after talking with a lot of people about it, it seems that the following is true:
On the Wii: You have to use the controllers which is kind of annoying
On the Xbox: It has some issues with the camera on Kinect
On the PS3: You don't use the camera so no issues there and you don't have to use the controllers, so it seems to be the best at the moment.|||PS3, unless you own a Kinect. I'm sure the issues with tracking will be corrected on the Kinect, but until then unless you already own the hardware - get the game on PS3.

Step Aerobics
While I have already changed from using the resistance to weights. I was wondering if they had any plans to incorporate different level of step boards for the system, so it could account for the difficulty and calorie burn?
This would be a nice bonus to add in, to encourage people to start increasing their step aerobics for more calorie burn.|||You can buy one for the Wii board.

Feedback- Website
In my opinion there is almost nothing wrong with the game. It registers my movements in real time and the workouts kick my butt. My one and only complaint is the website.
The groups are very hard to understand. Why can I scroll through a list of groups to find a group that I want to join? Why must I know the name and a passoword of this group?
The private messaging and other features aren't very user friendly.
There needs to be more tools added to the website such as a food tracker!
Just a few tips. I hope this helps!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!|||Oh and what's with all the spammers!?

Custom Workouts
I know how to 'edit' what's in a workout but is there a way to rename the workout itself? Also, is there a way to copy it in order to make several versions with minor changes?|||Unfortunately there is no way to copy+paste or rename a workout.
Fifa Online Pass Problems
I activated the code on my previous ps3 which recently stopped working. I have a new slim ps3, when I try to type in the online activation code nothing happens it does not let me play online anymore.
What should I do?. I do not want to pay for a new code or game since I already bought the game just the PS3 changed. :)|||
First of all I would ask in a FiFa based forum

PAUSE FUNCTION FOR PS3
Does anyone know how to pause the workout for PS3, because sometime I need to pause the game, but could not.. Please help.. Thanks.
EA Sports Active Administrator please respond!!!!!
Does anyone from EA Active actually monitor these boards anymore??
They used to when they were first trying to sell these, it seems they don't care amymore. I have not seen anyone respond to any of these posts and there are many out there that need an official input. I suspect they will be back when they are trying to sell the expansion pack...but maybe not.
We also have Linda0012 spaming the HE!! out of the message board. I have reported it at least half a dozen times, but nothing has been done about it!
How about a little attention?? :)|||I am also reporting the SPAm. i think we all need to to get the attention of the adminstrator and get it dealt with|||I have reported the spam too & also PM'd Linda to tell her she has been reported|||I really don't think that any EA Sports official reads or monitors these boards anymore. Early on they did and even came on and offered help and advice. When was the last time anyone read a post from an employee of EA Sports? Let's see if I'm right and see if anyone responds.|||Well by now it is pretty obvious that there is NO administrative support of this forum. Date and Month Wrong
The date and month are wrong in my Active More Workouts. I've already live chatted with the help desk and they told me to come here. Because of the wrong dates and months the game thinks I am not doing what I should when I should. Extremely frustrated as I just purchased this. Any help out there??????|||I think the game just pulls the date from the overall Wii system. Is is correct in other games?
Also, since you can start a new challenge at any time I don't think the date would have any impact on the game thinking you're not doing what it thinks you should. Is it specific activities it doesn't think you're doing correctly or somehow the entire workout?

Got the USB to work...now the rest won't
After a day, my Wii decided to recognize the USB adapter. Unfortunately, despite many attempts, I am now unable to get the sensors to connect with the game. I have tried the "rebinding" and all the sensors do is flash and I cannot get them to connect. Is there anything else I can do?|||Same problem here but with a PS3.|||I have the problem with the right arm sensor not working everything else works on my PS3|||Fixed it by rebinding and holding the botton while it syncs.|||Unfortunately now, the Wii won't even recognize the USB adapter, so I'm back to square 1. You would think that when you charge 100 dollars for something you wouldn't get a product that has this many flaws. Extremely disappointed with EA.
Workout overview is faulty
Can it be that there are problems with the data management?
I’m a ps3 user and in any case, my data which are indicated at my online account (Tracker) are not right. Ostensible I have done last Sunday and Tuesday two workouts, but both are wrong. I have done on both days only one workout. While calories and duration suggests on Sunday that I have done only one workout, the time and the calories was calculated on Tuesday also for two workouts.
Even more strangely it becomes with the Distance. Here indicated values are right only on Monday. During all other days the value is simply too high.
But all details are presented right in my group.
|||
Same here, and I'm on PS3 as well. Some daily statistics are wrong, some are right. Brad, is the bugfix team aware that our statistics are all messed up?|||Is this still an issue, guys? If so, I'll pass it on to the team.|||
Yes. The stats on easportactive.com are still wrong.
Some examples:
It says that I ran 8 km today. No way.
It says my all time max heart rate was 1809 bpm. (?!)
It says I'm on day 1 of the 9 week program, but I'm on day 10.

Add custom workout to program on "off days"
Hey all. Just got this today and it is GREAT so far. I've started a nine week program on hard and of course have my off days. I'd like to get some extra upper body work in on those days. Is there a way to officially add a custom upper body workout on off days into my program calendar or do I need to just go in and do the workouts myself? Thanks|||Go under my Workouts. At the top you can arrow through and choose what workout you want to do. Click on them and it will add it. When done it will give you the option to name it.
After that you will find it under Custom workouts.
|||You can't add it to your calendar but you can do a custom workout anytime you want. If you finish your workout for the day and want to add a little something you can create a custom workout for that or you can choose any of the preset workouts any time.|||I was trying to find out how to do this myself last night. That would be a great option to put into the game so you can create your own calendar. I suppose, however, it's not really a big deal since you can just go click on the workout that you want to do. But it would be nice to see what your upcoming workouts look like.
|||I'm glad to know that I wasn't missing something really simple! Now i've just gotta setup a good upper-body workout for my off days and build some arm strength so I don't shake when I'm doing the plank!|||Your arms aren't what is shaking on plank. It's your core which is what it's designed to strengthen. Building a strong core helps with so many aspects of life, better balance, support for your back, and for most of us, nice flat abs. It's one of the few strength exercises that women can usually hold longer than men because it doesn't depend on arm strength.|||Had no idea. It really felt like my arms were the weak part and making me shake. Thanks for the info!
After that you will find it under Custom workouts.

Kick-Ups and squats not registering on PS3
hi all,
i started my 9 week workout this morning.
made it through the warm ups fine but got to the kick-ups and they just did not register.
i tried a few times and then skipped it to the squats and they wouldn't register either.
it told me to stand still before doing anything.
reckon i stood there for 2 minutes and nothing.
left me frustrated and not the least bit sweaty.
a bit disappointed for my first attempt.
any tips? what am i doing wrong?
i really want this to work.
thanks,
Noog.|||Well the warm ups aren't reading your movements. You can just stand there or wander off and it will keep going. First thing to check is do you have your leg strap on your right leg, about mid thigh with the lights facing up toward your body? Is it on top of your clothes, not covered by shorts or a long t-shirt?
For kickups you need to lean forward a bit and kick up hard toward your butt. In squats it's looking for your thigh to get close to parallel to the floor. Make sure you are doing them when the game "dings" for you to go. It's best not to wear the strap too high on your leg, keep it about 1/2 way between your hip and knee.|||Great, thanks for your prompt reply.
I will definitely give it another go when i get home from work.
It felt like i was doing the right thing, all things in the right spot etc.
I will change the difficulty to medium or easy, hopefully i can learn the correct movements to register and get my sweat on.
Thanks again,
Noog.
|||(UPDATE)
I tried again and nothing. Not even a hint that any of the lower body workouts are recognising the leg sensor at all.
I made a custom work out that included running, squats, fire feet, kick ups and more but nothing.
Having looked around the forum and read the manual, doing everything it suggests to do, i cant for the life of me get it to work.
Someone also mentioned that the game is quite picky in regards to the order the sensors are turned on.
Left arm. Right arm. Right leg.
Is this before or after i press start on controller 1 at the home screen?
Is it possible that the sensor is faulty?
Please offer any suggestions that you think will work, I really want to get this going and me with it...
Thanks again,
Noog.
|||RE: Noog
Some questions first
1) I'm sure that the leg strap is on correctly, but please double check that the leg strap is on the right leg, on the upper thigh, with the blue lights facing up.
2) If the blue lights are on and not blinking, and you load up footfires, and shake the leg peripheral, does nothing occur? If so, then it sounds as though the leg peripheral may be starting to fail.
|||Cheers EA_Brad, been hoping you would reply.
It is acting exactly as you suggest, I actually tried shaking it thinking this would replicate the motion and got nothing.
I will try and take it back to the place of purchase.
Thanks again,
Noog.

How Do I Leave A Group That I've Joined (PS3)?
Hi Everyone,
I have joined a group and nobody seems to be participating and I am at my limit of three groups joined. I am not able to find a way to remove myself from a group so I can join another on PlayStation 3.

PS3 - Nike Low Impact Starter pack - Disappeared
I have EA Sports Active 2 for PS3. I am unable to find the “Nike Low Impact Starter pack - $4.99” that was released on 1/18/2011 to PSN, it is neither on the Playstation Store or in the “Download Content” area while inside the EA Sports Active 2 Program/Game. |||Well thanks s33butler and thanks EA Sports for the answer.
But they have to be more informative, they cannot removed something and left people without any news !|||Unless EA re-releases it the only way you could obtain the "Nike Pack" is if a Parent/Guardian/Child of yours already obtained the DLC, then you could install it on your PS3 from their account.
It used to be, you could share DLC with up to 5 different devices (PS3/PSP) from anyone, but they changed that back in Oct 2008.

Other than that, you would basically need to marry someone that purchased it in that brief amount of time it was available, but that is going to the extreme for a workout pack with just 6 workouts.

|||This is stupid, and pretty annoying. If I had known that we only had a handful of days to purchase this add-on, I would have done it that day. But I didn't even own EA Sports Active 2 until Feb. 3rd (and didn't start using it for a month after that), so I wasn't going to buy DLC for something I didn't own yet... And now I miss out on more variety. Disappointing. Please add more workout packs soon. You can bet I'll buy them all on Day One so I don't get screwed again.

Old wording of PS3 End User Agreement prior to Oct 08
Content purchased through the PSN Store can be shared on a total of five PS3s. This includes your initial one, of course. This serves two purposes:
It allows you to redownload your purchased content onto a new PS3 if yours should die for some reason
It allows you to share your purchased content with up to four friends
Both of these uses are intended and perfectly legal. To do this, simply create a new user on a PS3 that does not have your content, then sign in as that user with your PSN ID. Access the PSN Store and you will find a button in the upper right called "Download List". This is a list of everything you have downloaded to that PSN ID (both purchased content and free content). Download those items you want to put on this new PS3, and it is good to go whether they use your PSN ID in the future or not.

You can bet I'll buy them all on Day One so I don't get screwed again.
hammer curls in NFL trainng camp
I did my first 60 day workout today (just got NFL training camp yesturday), and the hammer curls did not work right. It kept telling me to hold still, which I was. The only way to get it to work was basically do double the curls. I would curl, then the training would, but my arms did not actually go up, I had to lower them them raise them again. Then do this in reverse to lower.
No matter what I did including taking the arm band off and on, restarting the exercise, etc...|||Are you making your movements on the cue to move? I have Active and it has a ding sound that tells you when to move. If you move too soon it doesn't always register.|||For upper body movements, you'll need to make sure that the peripherals are on correctly (not upside down). Refer to the FAQ for more info on upper body exercises.

If you are certain you've got the peripherals on correctly, try this tip for NFL Training Camp:
For exercises like Tricep Kickbacks, curls, and rows, make sure that the Wii Remote is still. Try placing the Wii Remote on a table beside you for these exercises and see if that helps at all.|||I am definitely moving on command. I will try leaving the controller on a table and see what happens.|||I am definitely moving on command. I will try leaving the controller on a table and see what happens.|||I'm having the same problem. For me, the hammer curls, standing rows, and squat holds did not register. For me it seems to be something about the exercises that require the band, though doing the motions without the band didn't fix the problem.|||I also got hung up on the Hammer Curls. I tried all the tips. I finally had to remove it from my workouts. May I suggest you actually testing your software before releasing it? For such expensive software, I expected better. Booooo! Epic fail!! I will be posting negative reviews everywhere I can find a forum to do so. Booooo!!!!! :)

PS3 peripherals?
I'm so happy that EA Sports Active has come to PS3 - but I'm dying to know when we can expect some decent add-ons like the Wii - balance board in particular!!!
XBOX 360 how to I view my work outs online?
I have the Xbox 360 ver of EA active. I cant see any of my workouts on the website journal. how do I link my xbox to the website?|||You have to link your EA ID to your xbox live gamer tag as a persona. Go to www.easports.com, log in on the top right, click on your EA ID, and then under the 3D Avatar you will see a section called "personas." IF you do not see your xbox 360 gamertag listed, click on ADD PERSONA, choose xbox live gamertag, and enter your gamertag name in the account name box. Finish by clicking "add Persona."
If you already have your xbox live gamertag as a persona, then I am not sure. Mine was already linked prior to starting Active 2 and it all synchronized instantly.|||Thank you that fixed the problem I did not have my gamer tag associated with my ea account. It was not to clear on how to do it.. Thank you for your help!

Major Jump Glitch in Wii Heart Rate Monitor
I have just finished workout 9 on the 9 WEEK PROGRAM using a Wii and WiFi connection. For the third time a major incorrect reading has been detected by the heart monitor. A steady increase in rate was detected correctly between 113 and 118 BPM on two exercises, but between these two it shot up to 179 on 'Your Last Workout Summary"! But even this figure does not tally with 'Max Heart Rate' in Tracker which reports 190BPM. Is anybody else having this problem, albeit, minor? Are you aware of it and able to explain it, EA? I actually check and monitor the arm HRM every workout using a Garmin Chest HRM and sports watch, which I also record, and mostly they are in reasonable agreement, accept for this major jump in heart rate which the Garmin never picks up!
new balance board Wii
I originally set up my Active system withOUT a balance board and I just got my balance board... how do I make it so I can use the balance board with the game now? I hope I don't have to reset the entire thing and lose any progress....
THANKS!
THANKS!
qualtiy and variety
Hey I was just wondering if anyone else thought that workout 4 of the nine week program on medium was a little silly. Practically the whole workout, not including warm up and cooldown, was squats in one form or another.
While this was great for the achievment of 1000 squats it made the workout 1) kindof boring, and 2) sort of dangerous. That many squats one after another does tire out your legs if you are really working it, but to complete everything -if you are just getting in shape- makes your legs wobbley and hard to keep your form.
Yes you can stop and take a break I realize that, but some people will persist through it and possibley hurt themselves.
Is there any other type of leg exercise that could be substituted into that workout? Are there other workouts in the 9week program that are similarily ridiculous in their repetativeness?
Can you get other carido options than jump repeats - how about jumping jacks or Wacky Jacks? (for variety)
I really like this game and the workout it provides but I find that the variety of exercises drops off quickly.
Could you make a patch or something to help keep us motivated?
|||Yeah, it was insane ! I had to get out of the view of Kinect 4 or 5 times during the session to take a pause. At the end i was sore, this was the toughest since i began the game.
It had 4 warm-up and 4 cool-down, 14 squats, 4 running/biking.
28 (total) - 8 (warm-up/cool-down) = 20
So 18 of 20 exercises was squats/running/biking !!!
I did "Cardio Racer" in YSFE and it's a little bit harder : 28 min of cardio (no warm-up or cool-down).|||Thanks I thought I was the only one! I did workout five today and it started out with squats. I had to laugh!|||Yes, there are more! I just completed one in phase 2 that was almost entirely jumping. This would have been okay if I wasn't suffering from a horrible dry cough :D

Playstation network down
I have been unable to connect for the last week or so on my PS3 to upload my workout data online. I thought it was my console but I did a search and found out that the whole PS3 network has been down since 4/21. This is probably old news to everyone else but it was new to me!
Luckily I never gave them any credie card data! Evidently everyone's personal info was compromised. The network will be down for as least another couple of days.|||Seriously unimpressed with Sony. This must have set back confidence in online trading. I'm so annoyed as normally I would NEVER store my cc details on a website, but on the PS3 keying in the cc number using the ps3 controller was such a nuisance, so I decided to store it. Will probably get my card details changed as a precaution.|||The latest from Sony is that although they held cc details in encrypted form, the 3 digit security code wasn't held - so at least thats something. Personal details were not encrypted. As soon as the PS3 network returns, I'd advise everyone to change their password, if the system doesn't force you to do this anyway. Level 60 Max??
I have reached "level 60" on my EASA2 online page (for PS3), and now the bar is all grey & when i mouse-over it there is no indication of how many points to the next level.
Is level 60 the highest it goes?
Also, I am in 3 groups & the member list/chart doesn't show up anymore, only the event feed.|||
I posted about this about six weeks ago. I think it means that they didn't count on people getting maxed out, well at least it's still adding up the calories. I've burned 52,000 plus calories since Nov 20th.

Ok...I didn't start til Jan. 3rd, so I'm a bit behind you. Currently at 29.7k calories.

Thanks. I made a post there about it. hope they fix it one of these days

Heart rate monitor and tattoo
I've been thinking about getting a tattoo lately and tonight I realised that it would be exactly where the heart rate monitor's sensor is - on the inside of my arm.
Would a black tattoo cause any problems with the heart rate monitor?|||
If you read the instructions to the game, as limited as they are, you will see that lotions and tattoo are contradictory to the HRM.

Can't sign in to easportsactive.com
When I go to sign in, I input my email and password, which is fine.
Then it takes me to a welcome screen where it asks for my ea ID, name and location info.
The EA ID autofills properly and greys out. (I assume it already knows my EA ID)
When I go to press the "Finished? Let's get started" button at the bottom, the button just dissapears and the page never advances.
I've reloaded my browser, logged out and in, and even rebooted and I cannot get past this welcome screen.

Few bugs and general feedback PS3/360
So I hope the folks behind EA sports active actually get to read this. I've been playing on both the PS3 and XBox versions of this game and have found quiet a few little bugs.
Firstly, with the 360 version I've noticed the following issues :
1) Forward/Backwards jumps - Hey look, I'm Marty Pellow from Jackals Forge Gallerie Abominate! I seem to spend my time in a semi crouched position with my feet floating off the floor. Possibly an MS issue could also be an EA issue. Either way it's pretty disturbing and obviously it's not registering correct leg positions/length/height.
2) Kickups/High knees circuit with trainer - Strangely no matter how quickly you run (and that's normally faster than the on screen avatar) your trainer just rushes off ahead to the point that he has to stop and wait for you to catch up. All the while telling you that you're keeping up a great pace.
3) Mountain Biking, climbing hills/running segment - Run in place and it seems to think your'e standing still. The only way to get you going is to take ridiculously over the top jump skip runs or equally ridiculous high knees, at which point you zoom up the hill like you're on steroids.
4) Overuse of side to side jumps (and jumps in general) - Jumps are high impact exercises, they're great at getting the heart rate going but at the same time they aren't all that great for endurance, joints, tendons, leg muscle scar tissue etc. They should be there, but not used to excess. Vary things up at least if the workout is going to involve a lot of jumps then add in stride jumps, skipping and for good cardio bring in foot fires from the PS3 version too.
5) Unbalanced workouts - The 360 version really seems to lack core and upper body exercises (and intensity in that area). In fact it seems to mostly focus on the ankles, shins and calves more than the upper legs too! Where are all the lunges and squats?
6) Lag - most noticeable on reaction games like dodgeball and goalkeeping. But also very apparent with boxing and step aerobics. Anything at all that can be done to improve this would be great, it's just very disconcerting when you move to have to wait what seems like an eternity before your avatar makes a similar move.
7) Trainer prompts - When the exercise only consists of a single rep (or even just two) then there's really no need to play the "One More Rep!" sample at you.
The workout intensity seems much lighter on the X-Box than on the PS3, this is doing the 9 week program on Hard with both.
9) Way fewer exercises. I'd really like to see more stuff on the 360, it doesn't have to be the same stuff as on the PS3, but at the moment it feels like a bit of a gyp.
Now onto the PS3 version and some of the stuff i've noticed.
1) Trainer prompts - At the end of a workout it sometimes plays back the "Time for a water break" sample instead of "well done on the workout today" sample. It's minor but it makes it feel less polished.
2) When doing follow my leader or circuits it's a bit ridiculous to hear the trainer exhorting you to "pick up the pace" or "you're going to have to work a bit harder to keep up with me today" when you've left them miles behind in the dust.
3) The right arm band runs through batteries at a ridiculous rate. In the 9 week program I went through at least 10 batteries (and only one battery change on the leg).
4) General sensitivity is nothing like on the X-Box with most exercises. If you do weights, pushups, split squats, lunges etc you're expected to hold a specific stance dead still for a couple of seconds before it "sees" you in the position shown. This throws out pacing completely, you can never get a rhythm going and instead are working to the chimes rather than the exercise. The 360 is much better at this in every exercise apart from squats where the PS3 version with it's squat bar shines and allows you to see exactly how well you're doing and to move to the exercise rather than the chimes (it tells you to squat or stand up before the chime hits and is much more predictable). This also makes the PS3 version quite dangerous for some of the weight and jump lunge exercises as it places too much stress while trying to hold position still for it to register the position correctly.
5) Overhead triceps extensions seem to have been set up for use with the exercise band only and not weights. The band pulls your hands back down but also inward towards the neck safely behind your head and keeps elbows in a position the game sees. Working with weights however which are a little bulky makes it much more likely that you could damage yourself thanks to the position it's expecting your arms to be in, this is due not to the weight itself but the size of the weights which don't pull in the same way as the band and push your hands out further away from your neck. Sadly the sensors don't seem to be able to tell which way up they are a lot of the time.
General feedback
1) During running on both systems the heart rate shows it's falling dramatically often down all the way back to the 90's when I can tell it's only falling a small amount from the 170's. This feels like a bug in the software rather than an error of the sensor itself.
2) The overall heart rate chart needs a smoothed trend curve, mostly to compensate for the above problem.
3) It would be nice if calories burned in outside activities were added to your own calorie count.
4) It would be nice if feedback you gave on your journal would also affect the next routine, i.e. if you said it's too easy then bring it up a notch, if it's too hard then bring it down. Also make some use of the "enjoyment" level to try and balance the workouts for maximum motivation.
5) The journal needs the option of giving you some tough love now and then. If I put in that I ate rubbish with hardly any fruit and veg, long spaces between meals, didn't get enough sleep or overslept, was burnt out from my exercises then it should tell me that I need to do better, not that I'm doing the right things!
Other issues
I've also suffered from the not being able to sign into the EA servers issues. I've not been able to even log in to post on the EA forums at all up till now either. Possibly linked?
Anyhow that's all for now. I hope that there's an update that addresses this stuff sometime as I do enjoy the game when it works.

Calories
I track calaries burned and try to burn 250 calaries per workout day. I am beginning to wonder how accurate they are. Single bisep curls (24) burned 6 calories in the old program and double bi-cep curls(200 burn the same 6, that should not be. Also on my custome step and kickboxing today I burned 110 when 82 was projected. if that is not strange enough the graph showed my under durinbg the begining which was the step and I was aloways at great. I know several people use calarie monitors and i was wondering just how far off the program and teh calarie monitors are and if it differs significantly on the type of exercies you are doing.
Thanks|||I don't rely on the calorie count too much because there are too many variables for it to be right. The game can only track so much and it really doesn't know how your body's metabolism works. Just use it as a guide for where you want your workout to be going. As your weight drops your calorie expenditure will be less as well. I'm small and have to work like crazy to burn 200 calories while my hubby is 250 lbs and can burn 200 calories but just turning the game on!|||If you want it to be really accurate, I would recommend you get a heart rate Monitor with a chest strap.
They are very accurate as you set it to your weight, age, etc.
They are just not accurate in these games.|||I have no idea how they work or calculate the calories burned...but are heart rate monitors really that accurate? What if you have a high resting heart rate? What if you had it on when you were watching a scarry movie and your heart rate soared because of the anxiety? Would it show you burning calories when you not putting in an effort? Would you be burning calories at that point even without effort?
Can you tell I'm an engineer!! Always questioning... :)|||Well I don't know Ken :) I am sure it would soar when you were watching a scary movie. Never wore mine to the movies before. :)
I will take into consideration next scary movie I watch :)|||LOL :)
Would you be burning calories at that point even without effort?

calculation issue of running speed
At around the 8min mark you see two players running side by side
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/easportsactive2/news.html?sid=6283568&mode=previews
The player on the left is winning the match inside the game but he is making fast tiny movements, whereas the player on the right is making slower but bigger whole body movements. The game should ideally detect whether someone is using a large range of motion as opposed to a smaller range, taking both speed and motion into consideration.
This seems to be an issue with most motion control games. If the team at EA can figure this out for the next version that'd be great, seeing that the Active series is meant to emulate a serious workout.

Costom music format problem
I've just put some country n western music onto my ps3 via my iPod nano.
When I'm on ea active and selected these tracks for my costom playlist it says there not sopported.and yet the tracks play perfectly on my ps3 .
I dont know if any one else has this problem.
I mean what format does ea sports disc programme want exactly.
I just thought I'd bring this issue up

Wii USB Receiver Connection Problem
I originally posted my this on a forum for the same problem a user was having with PS3 version.
Basically the Wii refuses to recognise the USB receiver. Generally I have to reboot several times, reinserting the USB receiver over and over. Its really frustrating because you don't know if its going to work or not until the game loads and you get past the splash screens etc.
Once it is recognised everything works fine (other game glitches aside)
I am wasting time before each work-out just trying to get the thing to work
I have tried moving the Wii console away from other things - e.g. satellite box, hi-fi etc
I have cleaned the USB ports
I have updated the Wii menu
I need to know from EA Sports if this is a known issue or if I have a faulty unit or if there is anything I can do.
I don't want to return the thing if the next one will be exactly the same
EA Please help|||You shouldn't need to keep unplugging the USB adapter in order to get it to sync properly. Once it syncs once you should be able to use it repeatedly. If you still are experiencing issues, I would recommend to take it back to your vendor for an exchange.|||I had problems with Active2 - It worked 50% of the time. I just changed my TV to a flat screen with component video cable and now everything works 100% first time.
It may just be a coincidence - if you have an old tube TV try moving the Wii as far away as possible there may be an problem with interference.
If the problem comes back I'll post it here

Problems with EASA2 for Wii - Issue 2
Hi again,
I created my EA ID on the Wii console when I created my account. When I went to the website to log in, it kept asking me to create an EA ID and wouldnt let me use the one i created on the wii console. So now when i log in, it shows on the website the second EA ID ishows, but when you hover over my EA ID, it shows "also known as" with the first EA ID i created listed by it with the Wii lable. How do I get my account to only using 1 EA ID? I am using only 1 email address.
Additionally, when I go view my progress under my current 9 week program, it shows I have not done any workouts. Are these issues related?

Trophies on Facebook
I looked through the FAQ and searched, but if this has been answered I didn't see it. Are my trophies supposed to be showing up on Facebook? On my PS3 network settings the facebook option is turned on, I have the PS3 Facebook App installed, but no trophies are showing up.|||There's no link I know of between the game and Facebook or Twitter.|||I get the trophies listed on Facebook if I choose Trophy collection in the Game menu in the PS3 dashboard.
You have to quit the game first though.

Kristofer

USB problems
I'm having trouble with my PS3 USB. I am constantly having problems with my USB registering when trying to start working out. Sometime I have to put it in several time for it to register. On those bad days, I have to turn the system off completely for it to work. I know I am not the only one having trouble with this. It is to late for me to take it back to the store. How can I get it replaced? What can I do to fix the problem?
Completely Blank Page on EASPORTS.COM
Hey there. I wanted to login and create my game face for Tiger 12, but when loading easports.com, the entire page is just white. Ive tried both the latest version of IE and FireFox. Can't seem to get anywhere with that site.
Thank you!

It works fine for me every day. It's when I login to my account and go to Game Face. This is the link that's blank.

Is there a different way to upload my pictures and transfer them to my account?|||I've never used game face before but when I enter my user name and password it seems to come up OK for me to create a gameface on it.
I don't want a game face so I'm not going to take it any further! :)

accidental reset half way through workout
Hi there,we are loving the active software and the whole family is following the 30 day challenge.
My daughter and I are having a fine old time but my husband has twice managed to reset the game half way through the workout, meaning that it went back to the start with no way of logging what had already been done. He has had to re do the workouts.
This was very funny the first time but the second time I wondered is it something he is doing (if so what) or is it a fault?
Has this happened to any one else? Any thoughts on the cause?
:)

|||Hi, just to clarify, is he resetting the console? There is also an option in the Pause Menu (accessed through pressing "+") that enables you to Start the Workout Over, I'm wondering if perhaps he accidentally chose this option?

Can't get remote to work on bicep curls -- help!
I have been using Active for a few days and no matter what, I cannot get the bicep curls to work! I have tried repositioning the nunchuck and the remote, I have repositioned the sensor. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't. This is so frustrating! I have used Wii Fit and Wii sports and have never had a problem like this. I have also done plenty of bicep curls with both bands and weights. I am not that out of shape that this should be so difficult. The trainer tells me to lower my arm when it is already lowered and tells me to stop shaking when I am standing perfectly still. Most of the other exercises work fine, though I have had a problem with the one where you stand with your hands facing your front thigh and lift arms to chest with your elbow out. That takes a number of seconds to register that I have done the exercise.
I really would like to complete the 30 day challange, but if it continues to be this frustrating, I will return the game.
Any advise?|||I find with the bicep curls you really have to make sure you curl your wrist in when at the top, as for the bottom, not sure. The game is great but sure does have it's quirks
|||I am having the same troubles with the bicep curls and am very frustrated. I can do every exercise the ACTIVE way, but this one. I hope more people respond back with suggestions. I will try to curl my wrist more, but I am pretty sure I am already doing that.|||It's not just you. For some reason, that exercise doesn't always register. EA Tech Support didn't have any suggestion other than to replicate the trainer as close as possible (duh).
I have found that if I'm too close to the TV, it will lock up and then you have to wait for a minute before it resets and goes to the next rep. For me, at least six feet behind the TV seems to work best. I also moved the motion sensor to the top of the TV and that seemed to help a bit as well.
Despite this annoying flaw, I do love this game though and have found it to be the most effective workout I've tried for the Wii. I hope EA can issue a patch that allows the bicep curl to register better.|||Well, it's helpful to know that others are having the same issue. I will also try to curl my wrists a bit more.
I was concerned that i was too close to the sensor. Unfortunately, I have a very small space to work with and am already doing the workouts sideways to the television so I can have the sensor about 4-5 feet away. I will see if there is some way I can reconfigure the room to make it work.
|||I haven't had any real problems with bicep curls. The bicep curl to shoulder press combo gives me some problems at the end of the curl, but curls by themselves don't. I'm guessing that the remote and nunchuk need to make at leas a 1/2 turn to register. If you're holding them facing out at the bottom of the curl, make sure they face in at the top of the curl. I don't think you need to turn your wrists any extra, but it might help if you have trouble. You might also want to check your starting position to make sure the remote and nunchuk can go through the full range of motion the game expects. For example, because of a low ceiling in my room, I generally start with the controllers lower down if I have to jump so that I can still make them travel a similar distance from start to finish. I hope this helps. Good luck.|||This is the exercise I had most trouble with (except for the side to side jumps!)
Things I found helpful to get it to register the curl:
1 Before starting, rotate the top of the remote and nunchuk slightly towards you in you hand. This way, at the top of the curl, it tilts further, helping the registration
2 Instead of moving directly up with the lower arm, kind of move it in a circle outwardly, purposely
3 Keep moving it up until the forearm is as near to the biceps as possible (without straining of course). Ie, nearer than you would think is needed
4 At the very end of the raise, lift the elbow up slightly, further tilting the hand towards the shoulder.
5 Hold still after all that
Hope this helps!|||I have had the same exact problem with these darn bicep curls. It is sooooooooooooooo frustrating! I get stuck waiting for it to register as still as humanly possible while it tells me to stop shaking the left remote. UGGGH. Otherwise I really like it.|||I am also having problems with my Bicep Curl exercise. I hope it gets fix soon so that I don't need to keep skipping this part of the exercise. I love EA Sports Active better than Jillian Michaels, My Fitness Coach and Wii Fit.
|||Some of the exercises do not work with all wii controllers. If using original Wii controllers I have had no problems but with my wireless nunchuck some excercises like squats give same kind of problems that you are having. Try if you can find any position for controllers to make those bicep curls work. I either have not found any good reason or fix for these problems.|||These are excellent advice !!!
I tried it today and it worked, the remote didn`t lock once and I was able to go through with all exercises in one :)
Thanks :)

|||I am so glad to read the problems other people are having, I thought I was the only one about to throw my nunchuck into the TV. When I do the bicep curls, bicep curls with kickbacks, and bicep curls with shoulder presses, it very rarely recognizes the movements. I stand as still as possible and curl my arms, but UUUUGGHHHHH! Nothing! The only thing I can do is skip the exercise which does not help when you are trying to burn as many calories as possible. I did the 30 day challenge on medium intensity and didn't have any problems. Now that I am on high intensity 30 day challenge, it gives me trouble daily. I also have problems when I am doing the running segment, I keep the same pace throughout the workout and at some points it says perfect, then it says too slow. Not sure how to fix this problem either. I will try the suggestions posted here and hope that I have more success than I have been having. I do really enjoy the Wii Active and have seen results but get very frustrated when the sensor does not recognize the movements. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions.|||The bicep curl intructions are WRONG. You must curl your wrist towards your shoulders and hold, it will then recognize the movement. As for fast kickups I have given up and hold the numchuck in my left hand ( suggestion from this board) and move my arms with my legss and it registers.|||For fast kick ups you have to lean forward. The minute I stop leaning forward, it doesn't register and my avatar starts doing the slow kick ups.

Whats in the Online Store? Mine has never worked (Xbox Kinect)
Just wondered if its up and running or has not been activated yet as everytime I try and have a look in there it just says "THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM DOWNLOADING THE STORE" Or something like that.

I believe the store will be accessible in the next patch update, with DLC content available a little bit afterwards. I'll have an update on the patch soon.

Getting stuck on the NFL Training Camp DB Challenge
Are others having issues with the DB Challenge exercise? I get stuck every time I need to do a back left lunge. It either doesn't recognize it at all, or will make the motion, but timer will not move. I have tried all sorts of combinations of movements trying to get past this point, but have always ended up just skipping the exercise.|||Forget to specify the platform. This is on the WII.|||I have to skip this exercise every time.
I have the exact same issue.
I got it to work once when I was actually sitting on the floor with my arm back.
it really bothers me because I know I'm doing a back left lunge.
I've tried everything anyone asked me to try.
|||I had problems at first. But when I put my arm closer to the ground it work fine.|||I have tried everything. arm touching the ground, right arm in the air. it doesn't recognize any movement i do on back left lunge.
it's worked maybe twice the entire time Ive had the game.
|||I found a comment a short while back that the right hand position is as important as the left. Specifically, the Wiimote has to be in your right hand and pointing upwards at your chest. I had the same recognition problems as those described here and the change made an improvement that I can actually finish this part of the drill now. I still have to move my left arm around sometimes to find that "perfect angle" but when I see the timer count down, I just try to hold whatever position I happen to be in.
I'm still trying to earn the "Use your head" achievement but no joy after a half dozen attempts so far.|||After struggling with this and doing lots of experimentation over the past 5 weeks, I've started to have a bit of success with the lunges....by not trying so hard. Seriously, it appears not to take much of a lunge to get it to register. The mistake I think I made was in believing that if it wasn't registering I probably needed to go into a deeper lunge. Not necessarily, as I've had success in the last few workouts by pulling things in a bit, and making minor adjustments when I'm there. I've only ever had success when the Wii remote was perpendicular to the floor, for starters. Another adjustment that helped has been to make the heel of the trailing leg is off the floor. Just making that subtle adjustment alone has often started the on-screen timer and allowed me to advance to the next instructions.
Now if only somebody could help me to figure out the DB Heads Up Challenge...can't seem to get this one figured out.|||Here is what has worked for me:
And remember that the lunges in this challenge should not look much different from the split lunges you are already doing, except for the direction you are doing them in.|||Success! Clasping the WII Remote to my chest when lunging back seemed to do the trick. Now that I've gotten through this one, I'm not sure it was worth the effort. This is one lame exercise.|||This is a bunch of Bull.. I spent all this loot on this game that does not fuction properly. I am reading everyone's ideas to how to get the game to work and none of this is any help. Secondly this game is designed to work based on our bodies so why in the hell are we adjusting for the game? This was a huge rip off. I thought I could use this to get in shape for my wedding and it looks like I just wasted a hundred plus dollars on some bogus workout plan. I will stick to excersising like normal since EA can't seem to get it right.|||I find that resetting the remote in the Wii setting where you adjust the sensitivity of the remote has helped me get through this issue. :)

Where do I get help???
Where do I get help with EA Sports" World Series Superstars: Baseball with MLB Stars??? This game is not listed anywhere. I am playing it through Facebook.
When I signed in today, my account was missing the 360 I had in baseball cash when I signed off last night. Where did it go? How do I get it back??
Please HELP!!|||Try the "Customer Support" link under the "HELP" column at the bottom of this page for your questions.

Adding option to weigh yourself
I would love to be able to weigh myself before I work out each day, like you can with Wii Fit. I don't think that you can do that with Sports Active, can you? It would be very handy!|||I use my Wii Fit to weigh, it's OK but my weight has gone up and my inches gone down. and the Wii Fit wants to know whats wrong? There's not a selection for muscle gain. :)
Am I missing something on Journal?
Is there a way to go back and revisit a prior days workout to see how many calories were burnt, exercises completed, and time spent??
If not, might I strongly suggest this? Its nice to see some progress :)|||When you're in the 30 Day Workout screen you can highlight any previous day and then click on "workout" and it will show the exercises and calorie burn goal. Then you can click on back to return to the previous screen. That's the closest I could find to what you're asking. I've only been using this for one week, but every day I've slightly exceeded my calorie burn goal, so this method would give a relatively good estimate of what you're seeking if you're meeting the daily goals.
I agree that it would be useful to have additional graphs for calories burned and hours spent similar to the ones for the survey information graphs.

Resistance band poor quality
I bought this game yesterday and after 1 use - thats right - just one!! - the resistance band has ripped in half length ways. It is not completely ripped all the way through but halfway?
It strikes me as a cheap piece of kit for this to happen? Shall I return it to Sainsburys or will EA send me a replacement direct?
Anyone else had a poor quality band or is this a one off?

Steve

No help at all really.
I have to send the band to them - at my cost! - and THEN they would send a replacement. Really good way of stopping my 30 day challenge before it has even started.
I bought this game on Tuesday and it broke on Tuesday night - brilliant.
WTG EA customer service - too much to ask them just to send a band or at least to send a band with a return envelope for the old one.
Ok, back to Sainsburys we go to return the product as UNFIT FOR PURPOSE shame really.
Gonna send this to watchdog as well - you never know - this could well be indicative of some poor quality control at EA end.
|||Hey,
Sorry to hear that you had that problem. I was a participant in the first 30 Day Challenge and none of us had that problem with the resistance band. It sounds like you just got a defective one. Since you only had it a day can't you just return it to the store where you purchased it and get a new one? That way you don't have to miss out on your workouts.
Renee|||I've heard that some people have been buying some of their own resistance bands for a harder workout, stuff like that. I don't think Active restricts you to use that specific one, so you could probably go out to any workout store and pick one up for the same effect.

I got awful bands as well. They are a total joke. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the EA Active besides that. I am using resistance bands i got with my Barry's Bootcamp. The problem with that is is that it doesnt always read what i am doing.
Thanks|||I also purchased my own resistance tubes. I'm doing the wii active to build muscle and the resistance strap just wasn't cutting it for me.|||I snapped not only the band that came with the product, but a pilates band as well.
I found out the hard way that the Pilates band isn't designed for those duel over-head shoulder presses, but that's where the product's band broke the first time.

I sent back one whole game because the resistance band broke. Now the replacement has started to "disintegrate" what is the problem. Surly this should be fit for purpose. If EA are recommending that this is for use with the 30 day challenge then is should at least last 30 days. And when you contact EA "customer service" attitudes are discussing. Boxing - heavy bag question
In doing the heavy bag activity, I found that it was giving me credit for multiple hits every time I swung. I would swing my arm and see my avatar on the screen hit the bag two or three times fast, which of course got my allotted hits done faster and gave me less of a workout. It doesn't do this with hitting targets or any other activity so far. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?|||Sorry I have not seen this happen before.
Website issues
Couple of things:
My goals seem to be broken, it appears as:
Exercise: 77%
Second goal, no title, no information whatsoever: 0%
Third goal: "0 Workouts Completed"
This seemed to have happened just after I finished my first goal.
Second:
My Cardio Kick Start Program still says I'm on day 1 and that I've only completed one workout. I have finished my second workout and am on day 4 right now.
Finally, as mentioned in other posts, time seems to be completely off. I have a workout that I completed yesterday, and it counts as one completed today.|||The web team is looking into a fix for the workout time being incorrect on the webpage. It always appears as GMT.
For the other issues you noticed, are those all when viewing from the website, or in-game?

I'm also hoping they'll release a patch soon for the xbox version, as there are no end of bugs in it, it actually froze my xbox yesterday completely during loading an exercise :) No other game has ever managed to do that. Body tracking is working very well though, even on the floor! Although it can be a little slow on the goalkeeping exercise.

Workout Summary: Not rec calories burned/workout duration
Hi there,
I’m having trouble with EA Sports Active 2 as per many people it seems! Details below:
Platform - Xbox 360
Live - Not connected
Issues - Basically after a workout, the workout summary NO LONGER reports my burned calories or workout duration. It used to, but for some reason no longer bothers. It records stats (for example number of press ups or punches on punching bag), but will NOT record further calories burned or workout time.
It’s pretty annoying as that’s part of the incentive to play the thing.
Hopefully somebody out there has some sort of idea? I suspected it was because I wasn’t hooked up to Xbox Live, but each day I play on the machine I moved the date forward manually..
Small other note, the menu music is appalling and repetitive; surely EA could come up with a variety which isn’t as annoying?
Cheers,
Rush

How do you keep EA Sports Active 2.0 from stopping mid exercise because of comm ...
The app tells you that the remote and balance board are not required, I am wearing the wireless peripherals, and the app stops mid exercise as soon as either the remote or the balance board falls asleep/shuts off due to non-use. And mid exercise you have to stop, great rhythm here, power up the remote with the A button and a shake or power up the balance board and step on it to get the app to recognize it is back on line. How do you stop this other than “Before each exercise shake the (unneeded) remote and step on the (unneeded) balance board?|||I am using the Wii platform for EA Sports Active 2.0
From EA's chat room with Haden, Miguel, and Roger, these are 1) gaming issues and they only address technical issues, or 2) these are technical issues and they only address gaming issues.
I think they are programming issues and they don't seem to care to address these at all.
The remote and balance board are not peripherals, peripherals are the USB receiver, the forearm senser, and the leg sensor. And they lose comms usually two or three times a session, usually during cool down, and you need to break the rythum and click OK to continue.
The remote and balance board fall asleep and then the program freezes, mid exercise, until you wake up the asleept device. You can minimize this by accepting a compromise - deselect the balance board with you paid good money for from settings since the programming can't handle it. Or step on the balance board between every exercise but expect battery life, the asleep feature benefit to go into the trash with the batteries.
For the remote, you end up pressing the A button every time between exercises even though the program says you don't need it.
Not happy with compromises.
In one 30 minute session I have four remote time outs, and four balance board time outs.

1000km trophys
Does anyone actually know how far you run / bike etc in each activity? I am assuming it will take some time to do 1000km in each one but no idea how far I have done so far or indeed how far each activity goes in the various modes (easy, med, hard) - any feedback greatly appreciated. Thank you
I can see the progress bar in the milestones section, but it doesn't say 50km of 1000km for example.|||No idea.
But I think person no. 1 who gets all three 1000 km trophies and the platinum trophy is supposed to get some props :)
It think it will take a year or so. Or somebody forces his/her whole family to work out with his/her account 24/7 :)|||I think the trophy for 1000 km is the hardest trophy in the game. Running 1000km is no the problem, running in front of the TV is the problem. I know enough people that run 50km and more a week, but nobody run indoors. At the moment I have run 35km after 20 workouts (hard modus). So I need 500 workouts to run 1000km. This will take more than one year with normal training.|||Oh, that's true. And there is some mountainboarding and mountainbiking to be done as well...
I never cared about ridiculous trophy collecting, but this one is something :)|||If you point the Wiimote and hover over the milestone in the list I think it does give you that information. Cannot play while online(Xbox360)?
I just started playing EA Sports Active 2 today on the Xbox 360. It seems that I am not able to play online as it takes forever to load(More than 20 minutes at least). I disconnected from the internet and it worked fine. Is this a known problem or is it just me? I have no problem with any other games.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Update 2: Floor-exercise detection removed entirely from Xbox version
Rather than fix the slightly buggy floor detection for exercises like star planks and sit-ups EA lazily decided to remove detection of ALL floor exercises entirely. They have basically now turned this $100 game into an uninteractive workout video for Kinect. This is an unacceptable solution.
As someone who had excellent lighting and few troubles with Kinect's floor detection I am extremely unhappy with what EA has done here. :)
Wondering if what they've done to the game is even legal, as this amounts to bait and switch.

New Challenge?
I'm just curious when/if there will be a new challenge up on the website. I think the 5K challenge was the last one. I got really excited reading about it, and then I found out it was over. Just want to catch the next one!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Does calorie burn include resting calories?
Hi,
Does anyone know if the calorie burn includes the calories you would burn if you were just resting (watching tv, for example) or does it just the calories burned above and beyond your resting rate?
This would greatly help me with inputting it into my calorie tracker.|||The calories calculated are beyond a person's resting rate.|||Calorie burn for just sitting doing nothing is so minimal it really wouldn't matter. I would assume the game is counting the calories burned doing the exercise.|||
Excellent, thank you for very much for this information.|||
Actually I burn a little over a calorie a minute as my resting rate, so over half an hour that's thirty extra calories I wouldn't be accounting for. Which is the difference between creamer in my coffee, so it's important to me. :)

Resting Metabolic Rate Calculator|||I also wonder if the calorie counting here accounts for the recovery time. A person's metabolism continues to run high for a good while after a workout ends. When you go from step aerobics to making lunch you don't just instantly return to your resting rate of calorie burning.
Jeff|||
In short, I do not believe current research supports your statement. It's an idea you see a lot in pop culture and I thought it was true too...

Summary
|||Thanks Kaliena0, I love learning stuff like this.
Regular exercise has many benefits and plays an important role in increasing our daily energy expenditure. However, despite what we may read in many popular magazines, the increase in energy expenditure from exercise occurs primarily while we are exercising, rather than due to any sizeable exercise- induced elevations in our resting energy expenditure.
