I track calaries burned and try to burn 250 calaries per workout day. I am beginning to wonder how accurate they are. Single bisep curls (24) burned 6 calories in the old program and double bi-cep curls(200 burn the same 6, that should not be. Also on my custome step and kickboxing today I burned 110 when 82 was projected. if that is not strange enough the graph showed my under durinbg the begining which was the step and I was aloways at great. I know several people use calarie monitors and i was wondering just how far off the program and teh calarie monitors are and if it differs significantly on the type of exercies you are doing.
Thanks|||I don't rely on the calorie count too much because there are too many variables for it to be right. The game can only track so much and it really doesn't know how your body's metabolism works. Just use it as a guide for where you want your workout to be going. As your weight drops your calorie expenditure will be less as well. I'm small and have to work like crazy to burn 200 calories while my hubby is 250 lbs and can burn 200 calories but just turning the game on!|||If you want it to be really accurate, I would recommend you get a heart rate Monitor with a chest strap.
They are very accurate as you set it to your weight, age, etc.
They are just not accurate in these games.|||I have no idea how they work or calculate the calories burned...but are heart rate monitors really that accurate? What if you have a high resting heart rate? What if you had it on when you were watching a scarry movie and your heart rate soared because of the anxiety? Would it show you burning calories when you not putting in an effort? Would you be burning calories at that point even without effort?
Can you tell I'm an engineer!! Always questioning... :)|||Well I don't know Ken :) I am sure it would soar when you were watching a scary movie. Never wore mine to the movies before. :)
I will take into consideration next scary movie I watch :)|||LOL :)
