I bought this game yesterday and after 1 use - thats right - just one!! - the resistance band has ripped in half length ways. It is not completely ripped all the way through but halfway?
It strikes me as a cheap piece of kit for this to happen? Shall I return it to Sainsburys or will EA send me a replacement direct?
Anyone else had a poor quality band or is this a one off?
Regards,
Steve

|||Can anyone please give me EA's UK support phone number?
Or, does anyone from EA monitor this forum?
Thanks - had no reply yet.

|||Managed to speak to someone in technical help.
No help at all really.
I have to send the band to them - at my cost! - and THEN they would send a replacement. Really good way of stopping my 30 day challenge before it has even started.
I bought this game on Tuesday and it broke on Tuesday night - brilliant.
WTG EA customer service - too much to ask them just to send a band or at least to send a band with a return envelope for the old one.
Ok, back to Sainsburys we go to return the product as UNFIT FOR PURPOSE shame really.
Gonna send this to watchdog as well - you never know - this could well be indicative of some poor quality control at EA end.
|||Hey,
Sorry to hear that you had that problem. I was a participant in the first 30 Day Challenge and none of us had that problem with the resistance band. It sounds like you just got a defective one. Since you only had it a day can't you just return it to the store where you purchased it and get a new one? That way you don't have to miss out on your workouts.
Renee|||I've heard that some people have been buying some of their own resistance bands for a harder workout, stuff like that. I don't think Active restricts you to use that specific one, so you could probably go out to any workout store and pick one up for the same effect.

I got awful bands as well. They are a total joke. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the EA Active besides that. I am using resistance bands i got with my Barry's Bootcamp. The problem with that is is that it doesnt always read what i am doing.
Thanks|||I also purchased my own resistance tubes. I'm doing the wii active to build muscle and the resistance strap just wasn't cutting it for me.|||I snapped not only the band that came with the product, but a pilates band as well.
I found out the hard way that the Pilates band isn't designed for those duel over-head shoulder presses, but that's where the product's band broke the first time.
I have my own replacement coming as well since discovering that design flaw. Hopefully this time around I'll be able to use it longer than 4 days.|||I had the same problem.. my band last approximately 7 days of workout! How do I go about replacing it?? Thanks
|||After a week of using my Active, my resistance band shreadded apart. I called customer service and after submitting pics of my band to them, EA sent me a new resistance band and handles - GREAT. NOT!! After ONE work out with the new band, it ripped also. . .now I am again cannot to do my 30-day challenge. I'm only 5' 4" and 125 lbs. . .I love the program, but these bands are horrible!!|||so its not just me then... mine also has torn so its getting shorter nad shorter by the day and Play.com wont do anything as its a week out of warranty date and trying to find out from EA... well lets just say Ive wasted an hour of my life trying to get thro to them..the resistance band is cheap and so a waste of time. I love the game itself however I do wish that the trainer would keep quiet and how come it doesnt seem to register properly when doing squats and lunges!!|||I had the same problem with my resistance band as well; it finally broke after about day 7. I got an old pair of panti-hose that seem to work fairly well and didn't break. Now I just use 10lb dumbbells. The only thing with that is that you have to work on getting hand positions with the Wii remote and the dumbbells in your hands at the same time, but it's doable.|||I have had exactly the same problem. I sent back one whole game because the resistance band broke. Now the replacement has started to "disintegrate" what is the problem. Surly this should be fit for purpose. If EA are recommending that this is for use with the 30 day challenge then is should at least last 30 days. And when you contact EA "customer service" attitudes are discussing. This is otherwise a great product if it at least lasted. All I want is for it to work|||resistance band broke after just a few weeks. I went to 2 stores to replace it and found it is only sold together with the leg band. EA needs to improve the quality and offer cheap easily obtainable replacements.|||it is a pretty wimpy resistance band anyway...I just went to Walmart and got a box with 3 bands of differing resistance- I am happy!
