Does anyone know if the calorie burn includes the calories you would burn if you were just resting (watching tv, for example) or does it just the calories burned above and beyond your resting rate?
This would greatly help me with inputting it into my calorie tracker.|||The calories calculated are beyond a person's resting rate.|||Calorie burn for just sitting doing nothing is so minimal it really wouldn't matter. I would assume the game is counting the calories burned doing the exercise.|||

Actually I burn a little over a calorie a minute as my resting rate, so over half an hour that's thirty extra calories I wouldn't be accounting for. Which is the difference between creamer in my coffee, so it's important to me. :)

When you go from step aerobics to making lunch you don't just instantly return to your resting rate of calorie burning.

In short, I do not believe current research supports your statement. It's an idea you see a lot in pop culture and I thought it was true too...
