Just bought the ps3 version today and worked out for the first time
One part that was frustrating is I could not get it to recognize SQUATS and reverse crunches
Any hints on how to make it recognize those?
Thanks
Randy
|||Where are you wearing your leg strap? Try putting it mid thigh and make sure when you do the exercises that a loose shirt isn't hanging over it.|||thanks,
I had it underneath my shorts, so maybe i will try on top|||Yes! I came to the forum to see if anyone else was having this problem. I will try wearing the leg strap further down the thigh and report back.|||Make sure that the leg strap is not on upside down. If that doesn't work for you, if you could submit a pic or a video of you in the squat pose (with a close-up of the peripherals on your leg) I could diagnose the issue for you.
Squats and reverse crunches should be one of the most accurate exercises on the wii/ps3 on EASA 2.|||I am having the same issue. When the squats were not registering it turned out that the leg strap was on upside down. I tried everything I could think of to get the reverse crunches to register. Out of frustration I quit the workout and replaced everything in the box ready to return it to the store. I enjoyed the workouts except the frustrating time spent trying to get the movements to register. Oh yeah, the arm raises or overhead presses or whatever they are called also would not register. I did about thirty to register ten. Please explain the problem before I return this item.|||Make sure the arm sensor is on right, lights facing down toward your hand, white part on the outside of your forearm. When you do the exercises don't raise your arms before you hear the "ding", then raise them and hold still until you hear the "ding" for time to lower them. If you move before the game wants you to it doesn't register the movement. On the upside you're getting an extra workout while you figure out how to get it to work!|||I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but I have been wearing the leg sensor upside down. Once I corrected that, everything works; squats, lunges, the works.|||My sensors are on correctly, but I've noticed the same issues.
1) Sometimes, it will not occur, and I will have a perfect workout.
2) Othertimes, my onscreen persona will move ahead of me (e.g. squatting when I haven't squatted yet) and remain stuck in one position. The bar on the right (which monitors my vertical movement) will indicate that I'm moving, but the onscreen persona will not move. It just stays in a full squat and nothing I do will move it. Hence the system doesn't register the squat. Only when this particular error in this or similar squats occurs, will the rest of my workout go awry.
3) When the system is malfunctioning, on reverse crunches, if I roll onto my hands and knees, the system registers that as a correct movement. When I roll back to a sitting position, it registers the completion of the crunch.
4) Also, on soccer goalkeeper, it will not register a right guard movement 50% of the time, but registers the rest of the movements.
5) On soccer kickups, the sensor tracks a jerky or slower movement than actual.
6) On any type of row exercise, it tracks the opposite movement from my own (down when up, vice versa).
Overall, it sounds like a leg sensor bug, and it's really irritating to be in the middle of a workout, heart racing, when all of a sudden, I'm "frozen" on the screen and won't complete my reps. This is not what I paid $100 for.|||windlight2999
thats exactly my experience. I am ready to throw this thing out the window. It is so frustrating when it happens in the middle of a workout|||RE: windlight2999
Do you have the PS3 version?
#2 - If your character onscreen is 'stuck' and doesn't move at all when doing squats, this may be related to a rare PS3 timing issue which will be fixed in the next patch update.
#3 - This behaviour you are describing sounds exactly like the leg monitor is on upside down.
#4 - I haven't run into this issue myself, but if it is a right lunge specific issue, it could be related to the leg peripherals orientation.
#5 - Make sure that you exaggerate your kickups, (or butt kickers) really drive your heels high for maximum effectiveness and detection.
Hope that helps!|||EA_Brad
thats for the response.
I did fix one part by putting the leg sensor up the correct way and that fixed that part.
This is getting really frustrating. I really want this to work, but I am about ready to give up.
Tonight hammer curls, just would not recognize at all. Right in the middle of the workout, it did not recognize me
until i skipped the exercise and went to the next
|||For hammers curls, tricep kickbacks, and lateral raises, the left arm peripherals needs to be on correctly. When your arms are by your side, the left arm peripheral needs to be facing outward from your body, with the blue lights facing down, and on your forearm. It you see text messages in the game like "hold still" usually it is related to this issue.

|||I had much better luck with these exercises (on the PS3) when I moved my leg strap down about 2 inches below where I had been using it. (Pretty much as high as I could put it...)
-Rofl|||This is to help you resolve your crunch and punches issue for EA Sports Active 2. All that's put into it is you must lift you head and a little bit of your upper back of the ground and you mustn't forget the wii remote. The wii remote is supposed to sense if you're doing it or not. But with squats, I cannot help you because I have the same problems with squats. Hope this was helpful!
