When will an update be available for the XBox version and will this update include the activities and other workout programs that were included on the other two platforms?
I thank you in advance for your response.
Regards,|||I have not heard of any updates for Wii or PS3.
I have a Wii and know for a fact that there have been no updates for it.
In fact, patching on the Wii is not possible due to the way the game code is implemented on the console. This is a technical limitation of the console.|||Thanks Ken,
My question was really related to the XBox version of the program.
As for software updates on the Wii, I believe this is possible because I recently purchased the Michael Jackson game for the Wii and as soon as I put the disk in, it said there was an update. DLC's are even possible (Just Dance 2 allows you to download songs).
In your opinion is the Wii version of EA Sports Active more effective than the XBox version? If so, then I will have to definitely shelve the XBox version (with all of its issues) and get the Wii version.
Let me know,
Regards,
|||I have a ps3 with connection issues
Were into the fourth week and no fix patch yet.
Very very strange|||
This is just IMHO. I have read a lot of problems on the forums here and on Facebook about problems with the XBox Kinect version. I have also read from people that love their Xbox version of the game and can either live with the problems or are not experiencing problems with the Xbox versions.

I have the Wii version and am very happy with it. It seems like most of the PS3 folks are pretty happy too. If you had the original version of EA Sports Active Personal Trainer and/or More Workout on the Wii, I know you will be very happy with Active 2 on the Wii.
It is not totally with out some quirks, but they are easy to understand and tollerate and it is a GREAT workout.
|||Thanks again Ken,
I do have the two previous versions of EA Sports Active for the Wii and I enjoyed them very much. I was hoping to get the same experience with the Xbox version but so far that isn't happening. I can go back to the other two and play basketball and do other activities and hopefully one day we can cross platform and add in the other two at the same time :)
One day the xbox version will be fixed :) but might have to get the wii verson to get the wireless experience. We'll see!
Thanks again
Regards
|||There will be a patch released for the PS3 and Xbox at the end of this week. I will post the official thread soon.|||Hi brad are we still on for that ps3 fix patch as were at the end of the week now.
Saturday 18. & snowed in|||I was able to download the patch for the xbox version today. I have only had it since Wednesday and only did 2 workouts previous to the patch. I hadn't experienced any of the problems some people had been complaining about but it could have been because I hadn't used it enough yet before the patch. A lot of people seemed to have started experiencing problems after a 2nd or 3rd workout.
Today, after applying the patch, I did have problems with the software not recognizing prone planks to side planks and finally had to skip that exercise. I haven't experienced any other problems with floor exercises as of yet.
My biggest complaint about the xBox version is content and not technical difficulties. I am very disappointed that mountain boarding is not including on the xBox version. That was the main attraction to Active 2 for me. In fact I am very disappointed in all the content. First of all, the advertising says over 70 exercises and there are only 63 on the xbox version. There are only 6 actvities - cardio boxing, dodgeball, mountain biking, soccer - goal keeper, soccer - striker and step aerobics.
Dodgeball is a joke and the software doesn't recognize squats during play most of the time. Step aerobics is the same routine as in More Workouts - just high knees, kickbacks and kicks; no cha cha cha or grapevines that PS3 users talk about and what about A or V steps or any other kind of variety? NOPE Boxing is only with a heavy bag - no targets or trainer. Mountain biking and soccer are ok. The Mountain biking is similar to water skiing in More Workouts. The soccer works ok but I am not a fan of doing soccer drills. That is totally a personal preference.
You run the same fitness trail and mountain bike trail over and over. Hopefully, more trails will open up as in Wii Fit with the more workouts??? Or maybe I am being too wishful!
I really miss the obstacle course run, paddle boarding, and SQUASH from more workouts. I would much rather run an obstacle course around a beach then to run in circles on a soccer field doing drills. I sold my Wii and More Workouts to upgrade to the Xbox and Active 2. I am extremely glad I was able to pick up Active 2 for $60 from Wal-mart last week or I would be feeling really ripped off right now.
I would definitely go with the PS3 version over xBox for those of you that have both consoles and trying to decide which would be better. The xBox seems to have the most buggy software, the fewest exercises and 2 less peripherals and they are still selling it for the same price as the other 2 versions. And I was very lucky to get it for the $60 price because that has been the only time I saw the xbox version for that price. Even now wal-mart and Amazon have dropped prices on the Wii and PS3 versions but not the xBox version.
I've had Your Shape Fitness Evolved and it is much better tecnically. It recognizes every movement 1:1. It even projects your own image on the screen so it is like working out in front of a mirror. It is definitely better for a great, continuous workout. But is doesn't have the activities as EA advertises. I loved More Workouts becasue of the 'game' activities. However, the xBox version of Active 2 falls short of this. I might have been better off getting Kinect Sports instead. Yeah, Active 2 gives you a good workout, but I feel let down that it doesn't have the activities like basketball and mountain boarding or a variety of cardio boxing and step aerobics rountines that would give it that fun game-like quality that I had with More Workouts.
I'm glad I upgraded to the xBox. I love not having controllers to hold and forever getting caught up in the nunchuk cord, but I hope that EA is able to supply xBox users with additional activities at no cost. We should at least get mountain boarding and basketball and a variety of boxing and step aerobic routines that are included in the other platforms at no extra cost.|||I downloaded the 25 mb patch this morning
And am still getting a pop up box obtaining ea data thing which won't connect
Hmmmmmmm??
Brad of the forum have you any comment to make please
As this would try the patience of the pope|||

For you to get the "cha cha cha" and "grapevines" in Step Aerobics for Xbox, you'll have to go to the hard intensity level when choosing your activities. As for the other activities you have hit everything right on the button.
Right now Your Shape Fitness Evolved, Dance Central and Zumba Fitness have replaced EA Sports Active as my workouts of choice until all issues have been rectified.
I hope, truly hope that the activties and routines will be increased for the Xbox version before we have to start paying for DLCs.|||MsEbony -
Thanks for the info about having to select 'hard' intensity for step aerobics to get the variety of moves. I hadn't realized we could select a different intensity level when choosing activities for custom workouts. In EA More Workouts it listed Step Aerobics A, B, C to choose from but they were all the same routines. On EA 2 it only has the one entry, Step Aerobics. After reading your post I found the area where I could choose intensity.
Thanks!
Now, if EA would put out a patch that would actual fix technical problems and add exercises to xBox version that the other platforms already have instead of grammar! Why EA thought I would be all excited about fixing a grammar error when the game doesn't register squats or some floor exercises is beyond me. GEESH!!
Anyone who pays for DLC for this game is crazy!!
